澳大利亚留学网 报道 塔斯马尼亚大学针对全国性的护士短缺问题采取了相应的解决办法， 塔斯马尼亚大学将在悉尼开设两年的护士学位课程。校方表示，从2006年开始，塔斯马尼亚大学将提供一个快速培训课程，使学生们能在 悉尼用2年的时间可以毕业成为一位有经验的护士。 此课程将由塔斯马尼亚大学负责开办，但执教地点则定于圣文升（ST VINCENT）和梅尼（MAYNE）两机构下属的5家悉尼著名医院。这个课程的内容和传统的3年制课程是一样的。 学生们将在2年内读完6个学期的课程，学习在假期也不会中断。 校方希望新的2年护理课程的毕业生能够缓和澳洲3万名注册护士的短缺问题。 <> 请下载官方说明： http://www.utas.edu.au/prue/Media%20Releases/2005/0823_Fasttrack_Nursing.pdf INFORMATION NEWS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF TASMANIA UTAS puts Nurses on the fast track in NSW About the UTAS School of Nursing and Midwifery The School of Nursing and Midwifery (SNM) at UTAS is a key provider of nursing education in Australia. The School is recognised for providing innovative educational programs, an emphasis on clinical education, and a rapidly developing research profile. The academic staff members at SNM have a national and international recognition for teaching and learning and research and scholarship. The SNM has the aspiration of being ‘Australia’s best’ provider of nursing education. About St Vincents and Mater Health, Sydney St Vincents and Mater Health, Sydney (SV&MHS) is the largest non-government, non-profit, health care provider in Australia and is part of the Sisters of Charity Health Service. It consists of five major hospitals with over fifty inpatient and outpatient departments. The five hospitals are: • St Vincent’s Hospital, a major public and principal referral hospital • St Vincent’s Private Hospital, one of Australia’s leading private hospitals collocated with the public hospital, • The Mater Private Hospital, specialising in cancer care, joint replacement, sports injuries,maternity and women’s health, lung and vascular diseases and cochlear implants, • Sacred Heart public hospital providing palliative and rehabilitation care and; • St Joseph’s public hospital providing aged care, palliative care and psychiatric care. Career opportunities The Bachelor of Nursing is well recognized throughout Australia and overseas through the quality of its graduates. Nursing graduates work in a wide range of institutional and community settings. Graduates of the two-year course will have had the opportunity to understand and appreciate the SV&MHS mission and values and they will be encouraged to consider employment opportunities at SV&MHS in the first instance. Once accredited, opportunities for employment as unregulated assistants-in-nursing will be available in each of the SV&MHS facilities further enhancing the student’s exposure to the clinical environment. Professional recognition The Nursing Board of Tasmania (NBT) accredits this course and graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the NBT. Once registered with the NBT, graduates can then apply to register with any other Nursing Board within Australia. Course structure The Bachelor of Nursing aims to prepare students for a broad range of first level practice roles in community and hospital settings. The majority of students’ clinical practice will be undertaken at SV&MHS.
